MARMARA UNIVERSITY FACULTY OF COMMUNICATION
2nd MEDIA LITERACY WORKSHOP
(Fall 2024)
Media literacy, an increasingly significant field of research within media and communication studies, is a comprehensive set of knowledge and skills aimed at fostering active citizenship, critical thinking, and effective communication abilities that support individuals in understanding the world and developing a meaningful life practice. While efforts continue to promote media literacy across wider audiences, it is also seen as essential for building resilience against information disorder.
In this context, the 2nd Media Literacy Workshop, first organized by the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Communication in the Fall semester of 2023 with the support of the Journal of Media Literacy Studies, will be held this year under the coordination of the newly established Academic Development Coordination Office of the Faculty.
